New Year’s Resolutions and Hiatus

I’m quite sure you’ve noticed already, but we haven’t really released anything lately. And I’ve also been ranting about how we don’t have enough staff to actually do anything worthwhile. So to make a long story short, until we’ve found some new staff, we’ll be on hiatus until further notice.

As for the New Year’s resolutions:

• Avoid promising any releases until we can actually do something about it.
• Catch up on things once we’ve gained enough new members. (Of course, this won’t be possible unless we get new people.)

And with that, I guess I’m done with this post. So yeah, have fun and if you want/can help out, do so.

About that backlog…

Sup, been a while without anything at all, so I thought I might as well give you a short update on the status of things.
Quite frankly, I’ve been really busy. But that will change on Thursday, December 13th, when my one month long winter break begins.
So, as some of you might’ve guessed from the picture above (unless you’ve got bad eyes and/or can’t read), I’m planning to get some work done primarily on Sankarea and SYD, since those are doable with minimal staff. As for SAO, to keep the quality on the same level as before, I’d like to keep postponing that until we have staff again. Currently we’re like, me and Samu-tan.

So yeah, I guess you could expect at least Sankarea to get out sometime in a relatively near future. Hopefully we’ll see some SYD getting out soon as well. SAO is in need of new staff, and LOLHeroes has been stuck on QC since forever.

While I’m at it, I’d like to state, again, how we’re in dire need of staff. Any and all positions, really, as long as you know what you’re doing.

Sword Art Online 05-06 – (Finally) Released

Well, that was quite a delay. And it’s not really over yet, since we’re still a bunch of episodes behind.
And yes, we’re still somewhat understaffed, more details here.
But anyway, finally getting episodes 5-6 out, and hopefully 7 will follow soon, as it just needs QC.
Episode 8 is probably about half-done, and 9-11 are quite undone.

On a side-note, we will not be picking up any new show for fall, because 1) SAO is 25 episodes and 2) we’re still short on staff.

Sword Art Online 04 – Released

Transport stream broke, so we’re using a share raw this week.
And well, this was very, very delayed. Not really sure why. Timing problems, etc..
Also, I’m pretty sure I assigned someone to fix the karaoke for the OP/ED, but that hasn’t turned up yet.
Though since I had to wait for stuff to be done, I went ahead and did a complete revision of both OP/ED. I was bored.

Anyway, I personally think this was probably the least rushed episode so far. And the least rushed release.
Or maybe the first episode was less rushed. Nah, this felt less rushed than the first episode.

And I guess I don’t really have much else to say this time. ┐(￣ー￣)┌
As usual, dropbox coming up once I finish uploading it, and ep5 preview should appear on Wednesday or Thursday.

And we’re late again, this week. Like, really late this time.
But Eien was actually on time with his encode this week, so no need to blame him.
Anyway, it’s still mostly due to time zones. How convenient it would be if all our staff were located in Europe.
Or I guess it’d work if we were all in the US as well. Then we wouldn’t be up all night subbing anime either.

Yep, we’re still at it.
And we’re still lacking staff. Come on, aren’t there any interested timers out there?
I’m a terrible timer, so I really shouldn’t be let anywhere near that, and Samu-tan doesn’t want to do it either. ( ¬‿¬)

And once again, we’re delayed by Eien, who prioritizes encoding Dog Days’ over SAO.
Also, anyone who wants to buy Eien a better connection so his encodes can upload faster? ( ¬‿¬)
Anyway, due to it being half past 4 in the morning now, and the encode still isn’t done uploading to the ftp, we decided to release this now with a less-than-perfect raw, and release a v2 later, along with a v2 for ep1 which fixes a few minor details.

And hey, did I mention that we are in dire need of a timer?

Also, turns out that I managed to do one of those really careless mistakes when making that patch for ep1. I successfully forgot to include the subs. Way to go, me.
So for those who already updated it to v2, here’s a patch which fixes your broken v2.
And for those who have yet to patch it, here’s a patch for the v1.
Correct CRC for episode 1 should be 40171B8D.
