A: N/A

Q: Why do/did you sub <insert random show X here>?
A: Because we feel/felt like it.

Q: Can you sub <insert random show Y here>?
A: Maybe, but most likely no.

Q: One of your episodes of gets pixelated/doesn’t work/looks awful when I play it, why? ;__;
A: No it doesn’t. You’re just doing it wrong. Go get CCCP or K-Lite and everything should work out for you. Unless you’re using VLC. Won’t help you with that.

Q: My PC fails, I can’t play your x264 encodes, where are your XVID’s?
A: Non-existent. They simply don’t exist. That said, we won’t be doing any XVID’s. Since your PC fails, go get a better one, it’ll do you good! *thumbs up* (Then again, there are always these random people re-encoding XVID’s, so take a look att TT or Nyaa a few days after a release.)

Q: Do you have any need for a <insert random fansubbing position here>?
A: Instead of asking that, take a look at the About page, or in our IRC channel’s topic, if we’re looking for something, it’s sure to be mentioned in either or both those two places. It’s also likely that it’s mentioned in one of the latest posts if we’re looking for something in particular.

Q: Hai, I’m American/Asian/something-else-that’s-not-European-or-African-or-something-else-relatively-close-to-GMT, could I join you as <insert position here>?
A: You know how there’s this pretty big time difference between Europe/Africa(GMT-ish timezones in general) and say, America or Asia, yes? That could mean you’ll have to work on times that might not be very convenient for you. For example, early in the morning (if you’re American) or late at night (if you’re Asian). Actually, more like, really fucking early in the morning for Asians. Like, 4-5am. But well, if you’re still interested, refer to the next question.

A: Do you have any kind of skills that might be useful to us? If not, no. ◕ ‿‿ ◕

Q: How do I reach your IRC channel?
A: By clicking on ‘IRC’ up in the page navigation. Alternatively, you can also go to #Derp-Subs@rizon.net using your IRC client of choice.

Q: Wow, you have quite a lot of staff, seeing the people with + in the IRC channel.
A: That’s not a question. No, voice (+) does not equal staff. They’re just Elite Lurkers and the like. I guess you can count op (@) or higher to be some relatively staff-related people though.

Q: You promised a release yesterday, why isn’t it out yet?!
A: :Yesterday: probably refers to today, and you’re probably somewhere in Asia, where it’s tomorrow while it’s still today over here.  GMT+1, remember it.

Q: You promised a release <insert week day here>, but it’s still <insert day before said week day here>, how come it’s already out?
A: Are you seriously complaining about an early release? Seriously though, it’s likely that you’re American, because it’s still yesterday over there, while it’s actually the correct release day here. GMT+1, remember it.

Q: Why isn’t your latest release of <insert show Z here> on the IRC bot yet?
A: Because everything takes time. And our bot is hosted by a very generous third person party, and thus said person has to get the episode before it can be uploaded to the bot.

Q: HOW DOWNLOAD FROM BOT?! (屮ﾟДﾟ)屮
A: YOU TYPE /MSG <INSERT BOT NAME HERE> XDCC SEND <INSERT PACK NUMBER HERE>! щ(ﾟДﾟщ)
Also, doesn’t work from the webclient, you’ll need a proper IRC client, like mIRC for example.

Q: “You have a DCC pending, Set your client to receive the transfer”, what do?
A: First take a look here, read through some of it, preferably post #2 and #6.
Short version (if you’re using mIRC): Go to Options -> DCC, set ‘On Send request’ to ‘Auto-get’, and to make sure it’s not stopping you from downloading, click ‘Trusted’ and disable ‘Limit auto-get to trusted users’.
Then go to Options -> DCC -> Ignore and choose ‘Disabled’ in the ‘Method’-dropdown.

Q: Shit’s so cash.
A: Ok.

Inb4 10bit encodes.

A: No, they don’t. You just can’t handle them. Go into #Derp-Subs and bitch to tp7, he can solve your problem, and you’ll suddenly have a setup which is vastly superior to your current one.
